Reiki Level 2 builds on the foundations you developed in Reiki Level 1. You will learn how to use the sacred Reiki symbols, work with Reiki across distance and time, and begin working more deeply with another person's energy.
But for me, Reiki 2 isn't simply about learning more techniques. It is also about learning to trust yourself — what you feel, sense, see and intuitively know — while understanding the responsibility that comes with working in another person's energy.

Is Reiki Level 2 right for you?
Reiki Level 2 may be right for you if you have completed Reiki Level 1 and feel ready to take your practice further.
You may want to deepen your own personal and spiritual Reiki practice, learn to offer Reiki to friends and family, explore distance healing, become more confident in what you intuitively sense during a healing, or begin developing the skills needed to work with clients professionally.
You don't have to want to become a professional Reiki practitioner to continue to Level 2. Once you have completed the course and your 20 required practice sessions, you will receive your Reiki Level 2 certification and can choose to practise professionally. But you don't have to — Reiki can just as easily remain part of your own healing, spiritual development, or something you share with friends and family.
There isn't one "right" reason to continue with Reiki. What matters is that you feel ready for the next stage of your own journey.
Taking Your Reiki Practice Further
In Reiki Level 1, you learned the foundations of Reiki and began experiencing what it feels like to channel and work with the energy.
Level 2 takes that foundation further.
You will receive your Level 2 attunements and learn the first three sacred Reiki symbols and how they can be used to focus and direct Reiki energy for different purposes. We explore working with mental and emotional energy, distance healing, scanning the energy field, working with energetic blocks and how to conduct a Reiki healing session for another person.
There is also a much greater emphasis on what it means to work responsibly with someone else's energy — including intention, consent, energetic boundaries, confidentiality, knowing what falls within your scope as a Reiki practitioner, and looking after your own energy when doing this work.
For me, this is also where learning Reiki starts becoming less about following a set of instructions and more about developing trust in yourself.
You will learn the traditional techniques and hand positions, but you will also be encouraged to notice what you feel, sense and intuitively pick up during a session. The aim isn't for every Reiki practitioner to work identically. It is for you to develop a strong foundation and then begin discovering how Reiki works through you.

Learning Reiki is one thing. Feeling confident using it is another.
One of the things that matters most to me when I teach Reiki is that you don't leave simply knowing how something is supposed to be done.
I want you to have actually practised it.
I've worked with students who had previously completed Reiki Levels 1 and 2 elsewhere but still didn't feel confident enough to practise. What they needed wasn't necessarily more information. They needed opportunities to work with Reiki, ask questions, talk about what they were experiencing and begin trusting themselves while they were doing it.
That's why practical work is such an important part of my Reiki courses.
Throughout Level 2, we'll practise the different techniques together. You'll work both in person and remotely, depending on the exercise, and we'll talk about what you're noticing as you go.
The aim isn't for every Reiki practitioner to work identically. It's for you to develop a strong foundation and enough experience to begin trusting how Reiki works through you.
Can I learn Reiki Level 2 online?
Yes.
If you're attending Reiki Level 2 online, you'll join the same class live as the students attending in person in Johannesburg.
You'll be with us throughout each three-hour class via computer and will take part in the teaching, discussions, exercises and practical work with the rest of the group.
Much of the work we begin exploring in Reiki Level 2 involves working remotely anyway. Depending on the exercise, you may be paired with another student, work remotely with a friend or family member, or practise with somebody physically present with you while remaining online with the class.
When we're specifically practising working with someone in person, I prefer online students to have a friend or family member available to practise with where possible. It isn't compulsory, though, and we'll work with what is available to you.
What about my Reiki Level 2 attunements?
Your Reiki Level 2 attunements can also be received remotely.
The process is very similar whether you're sitting in the room with me or joining us online. Everyone is guided into a meditation and given time to settle, and you'll sit quietly while I perform your attunement remotely.
I'll explain the whole process again during the course before we begin, so you'll know exactly what we're doing and what to expect.
Within Reiki, we understand that energy isn't restricted by physical distance, time or space. This becomes particularly relevant in Level 2 because you'll also begin learning how to work with Reiki across distance yourself.
What course materials will I receive?
You'll receive your course manual and supporting materials digitally as PDFs, including your worksheets and Reiki symbol information, so you'll have the same course material available to you throughout the training.
Completing your Reiki Level 2 Training
Once our classes are complete, there is one final part of your Reiki Level 2 training: completing 20 recorded Reiki practice sessions.
These sessions give you the opportunity to take everything we've worked with during the course and continue putting it into practice in your own time.
Your sessions can be completed both in person and remotely, and I recommend having a good mixture of both so that you gain experience and confidence working with Reiki in different ways.
We'll go through the requirements for your practice sessions properly during the course, so you don't need to organise or understand all of this before you join.
Once you've completed your 20 sessions and I've received and checked your practice record, you'll receive your Reiki Level 2 certificate.

Next Reiki Level 2 Course
Planning for early 2027
The next Reiki Level 2 course is planned for early 2027, with potential start dates from the end of February through to April.
I haven't set the exact dates yet because I'd like to take the availability of those who are interested into consideration before finalising the next group.
If there is enough interest in starting sooner, I am also happy to put together an earlier weekday course. So if you've been thinking about continuing to Reiki Level 2, please don't wait for dates to be advertised before getting in touch. I believe things have a way of coming together at the right time, and sometimes the interest itself is what brings the next group together.

Why 4–5 classes?
The course follows a structured syllabus, but I also allow space for questions, discussion, practical work and whatever comes up for the group. Some groups naturally need a little more time than others, so the course will run over four or five sessions depending on the level of participation and how the course unfolds.
